Flux is a 15 payline thunderkick slot that plays off in the outer limits of space. It is believed that the slot has drawn some of its inspiration from the Starburst slot as well as from the Gravity, Interstellar and Rosetta events based on the space theme.
This slot brings you a burst of crystals that float through the Universe and radiates energy.
Visually it is one of the most pleasing slots to play. As with most of the Thunderkick slots Flux is based on a brilliant real-time 3D animation engine which is very unique to them and won’t be seen at many other game providers.
The title of the game, Flux, can refer to the fact that the symbols are constantly moving and rotating on the non-existent reels. It could also refer to the bonus round which gives you multiple options of winning big.
Thunderkick did a fantastic job at bringing together all the elements of this slot in order to not only make the theme and concept plausible and playable but highly entertaining and enjoyable.
Look and Feel:
The graphics are beautifully elegant and out of this world with jewels rotating on the screen and lighting up with every single win. There are no reel lines that you’d normally expect to see. The symbols aren’t extremely original but with the slow rotation and the light shows added it becomes a visual pleasure to look at.
Expect to see bright funky colours when it comes to the symbols which are plastered across a visually pleasing background of blue that changes colour with each winning combination.
It’s a colour fest of note, in a sense one could believe it has a milky way/ Northern Lights vibe going with the constant change of colour.
The symbols vary from pink diamonds, blue triangles, blue rectangles and orange stars. The wild symbol has a form of its own with a golden orange colour.
Sounds and Score:
The slot comes with an ambient soundtrack which gives you a huge feeling of relaxation and enhances the feeling of being in outer space.
The sound effects are smooth, clear and effective. One could almost say it is very arctic.
Definitely a pleasurable soundtrack to have playing in the background while you spin your way to riches.
Other than that there is not much more that can be said about the sound except that it is perfect for the theme and easy on the ears.
Gameplay and features:
The wild is a gold ‘W’ that replaces all other symbols and stacks on all the reels.
When you land three or more ‘B’ symbols you will get a chance at three different types of bonus games to choose from
In this first option you get to Win Both Way. This allows you to win from left to right which is the traditional way winning lines are established. You will also have the chance of forming winning lines from right to left. This allows you to form more winning lines overall.
The second option allows you to play Flux with three extra rows. In this bonus round you will receive fewer spins however you’re chances of winning are still the same if not more.
You might say “what if I want to choose both of those options”. Luckilly for you the third options allows that. So you can win both ways with three extra rows added to the reels. This gives you the least amount of spins but your chances to win plenty is just as big.
The number of spins you get all depends on the amount of scatter symbols you landed to activate the bonus round feature. When you land the minimum of three scatter symbols you can choose 16, 12 or 8 spins. With 4 scatter symbols your spin choices increases to 18, 24 and 32. And when you land the maximum of 5 scatter symbols you get to choose between 24, 36 and 48 free spins.
Is it worth playing?
Yes. Thunderkick was highly successful in taking a simple concept and making it incredibly fun and adventurous. Some might feel that it is a rip-off from the Starburst slot and others will argue that it is a bigger and better version of Starburst. Nonetheless this slot is a winner on its own. Put on your space gloves and prepare for a bonus filled colour ride through the outer limits of space.
